Make Up on Vogue!

How to achieve long lasting Makeup.

I was absolutely delighted to be booked to do makeup on Vogue Williams on Thursday 14th July, I’ve always wanted to do her makeup!!

I had a really early start that morning as I had to be in her place for 5am so obviously I just had to do a really nice fresh day time look that lasts all day because she had to work a 17 hour day.

The makeup look took me 35 minutes in total and this look is so easy to re create.  Just knowing which are the key products to keeping your makeup lasting all day but also looking natural is the trick.

Vogue had all ready done all her skin care prep so I started straight off with foundation.  A flawless base is so important so I used Shiseido’s newest and absolutely amazing foundation, Syncro Skin, it’s my new obsession! Shiseido are a Japanese brand, in fact they are the oldest cosmetics company in the world, and let’s face it the Japanese have the most beautiful skin, they put millions into skin research!!! So this foundation is like no other foundation I have ever used before. It looks dewy and balmy but it’s an oil free product!!! It lasts for 15 hours and it beautifully enhances the skins complexion, it maintains skins clarity while preventing shine, has a natural matte finish but looks silky on the skin.. What more could you want from a foundation !  Vogue loved the foundation and said it lasted all day and right into the night.

I’m all about concealing these days and creating dimension, so I used Shiseido’s Sheer Zone eye pen under the eye in a v shape to open and highlight under the eye area.  I absolutely love this concealer pen as it gives such a gorgeous luminous finish under the eye, but even better, it has a slightly pink undertone so it neutralises any blue tones that most of us have.

I used Shiseido’s pressed power to set it, I didn’t have to use much at all as Synco Skin has a natural matte finish but as Vogue had such a long day ahead, I wanted longevity to her base.  If your base is right your makeup will last all day.

I kept the look really soft as it was 5am, so doing a full blown smokey eye would not have been appropriate. I will list the rest of the products below..

Vogue was so happy with this look, she booked me in for the following day also, which I was absolutely thrilled with as she was a dream to work with and such good fun!  This time we went for a slightly smokier eye as she was filming in Longitude that day.  I was also beyond thrilled to find out that Vogue featured this very blog on her Hello Blog last week, what a week for me!
