Professional Makeup Artist

Working with Gok Wan…

This weekend I had the biggest opportunity of my whole career collaborating with Gok Wan.  I mean how does this even happen in life??  I’m just a normal hardworking girl, who has a bunch of dreams..  I met Gok Wan last year and I suppose we just clicked.  We laughed at the same jokes, and had a very similar energy.  I never thought in a million years, I would pick up the phone and ask him to come back to Ireland to collaborate with me, but I’ve learned that if you don’t ask you can’t receive.

The shows have been a huge success.  We kicked off in Clontarf Castle in Dublin on 21st April. I couldn’t get over the crowd that was there, everybody was buzzing, excitement was in the air!!  I felt completely overwhelmed, inadequate and slightly fat – being 6 moths pregnant.  Collaborating with this Style Guru, this International Treasure, and then little old me….

We then took the show the following day to the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork.   I can’t thank my team of Makeup Artists enough.  These girls have turned into a bunch of incredible Makeup Artists who have really supported me in the last two years.  The gorgeous Dee Buckley, an incredible artist, takes care of all my affairs and Gok completely fell in love with her – she even did his makeup on the day!  The very beautiful Asta Jurkasite comes on long journeys around Ireland with me and she was responsible for the audience member makeovers.  The wonderful Audrey O’Connor helps me with all my big Masterclasses and assisted me on stage at the events.

The day absolutely blew my mind and Gok made me feel so comfortable.  Gok is one of the funniest people I have ever met.  To be honest, I now know why he is who he is.  Not only is he kind and hilarious, he is also intelligent creative technical and logical.  Gok Wan has the full package.  I suppose you would call this star quality.

I would just like to thank everybody who was involved.  I’d also like to thank everybody who attended the shows – you really made me feel so at ease up on stage.
